Community Bus Loop - Connect-A-Bus (CAB)

About the Service

The Connect-A-Bus (CAB) program is a community bus loop pilot program that offers a door-to-door service for eligible residents to visit different activity precincts around Casey and surrounding suburbs. This can include:

  • Local Shopping Centres and Markets
  • Libraries and Community Hubs
  • Medical Centres 
  • Outdoor Spaces and Parks

How the service works

The buses operate on a fortnightly basis from different suburbs around Casey.  The bus will pick you up and drop you off at different precincts in the servicing suburbs and pick you up at a nominated time for the return trip home. 

  • Routes and precincts are subject to change.  
  • Bookings are essential and spaces are limited.
  • Service Dogs and mobility aides such as walking sticks and wheelie walkers can be accommodated on the bus.   

The service operates between 9.00am and 1.00pm Service hours are from 8.30am to 2.30pm.
 

Who can use the service

The service accessible for all residents in Casey and will directly benefit: 

  • Older adults
  • Anyone who has a concession card or seniors’ card 
  • Those who can no longer use your own vehicle.
  • People with limited access to transport
  • People from diverse backgrounds
  • People experiencing financial hardship
  • Young people with limited access to transport.

Carers and /or support persons are welcomed.

Please note that this service provides transport only.

Assistance with shopping is not provided with this service.

How to access the program

To find out more and register your interest please contact our Accessible Transport Team on 03 9705 5444 and choose Option 1. Participants must be registered as a CAB Service User.

Fees

During the pilot phase of this program the service will be free.

Funding

This is a Council subsidised program.
