Casey Community Local Law 2023 details that you must carry dog poo bags with you at all times when walking your dog and collect and dispose of dog litter correctly.
Failure to comply with these laws can result in a fine or court action.
The City of Casey supports pet ownership and has several parks and reserves where you can walk your dogs on and off the lead.

Off-lead areas
Owners may let their dogs off-lead in 'Dog-Friendly Spaces', encouraging residents and their dogs to socialise and exercise in a controlled environment. However, it must be controlled as defined in the Domestic Animals Act 1994.
When walking your dog off-lead, you must:
- carry a lead in case you need to restrain the dog
- remain close enough to control the dog verbally
- not allow the dog to be a nuisance and chase another animal or person.
