Grandparent support and resources

Council recognises the vital role grandparents play in supporting their families in our community. Kinship care by grandparents plays a large role in supporting parents to care for their children.

Council supports a number of inter-generational programs where children, young people and senior members of the community spend quality time together.

City of Casey sees benefits in facilitating relationships between generations to:

  • Reduce social isolation
  • Increase a sense of wellbeing and belonging
  • Support the growing number of grandparents caring for young children
  • Increase respect and understanding of cultures throughout the municipality
  • Develop meaningful relationships between generations
  • Share of skills and knowledge.
