Additional support for children at kindergarten
Important update
Children who go to a Victorian Government funded 3-year-old or 4-year-old kindergarten can access the Preschool Field Officer (PSFO) program.
PSFOs work with kindergarten teachers to help all children join in and enjoy their learning. They also help find other services if a child needs more support.
Starting from 1 January 2024, Noah's Ark will provide the PSFO program in the City of Casey.
If a kindergarten wishes to make a referral for the PSFO program, they can contact Noah’s Ark through their website or email them at psfo@noahsarkinc.org.au.
For more information, you can also visit the Victorian Government website.
Extra help for children
Eligible children can get extra support. You can find more information at:
- Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS) program
- Yooralla, the South Eastern Metropolitan Region Auspice Agency for KIS

Supporting an additional year of kindergarten
If teachers identify that a child’s learning and development is delayed in at least two key outcome areas, they may be eligible for a second year of 3-year-old or 4-year-old kindergarten.
The teacher will discuss this with the family. If the teacher or family require support with making an informed decision, they can refer the child to the PSFO program.
