Casey’s Youth Climate Action Committee (YCAC) provides opportunities for young people aged 15-25 to work on meaningful projects that reduce our community’s impact on climate change through action and education to enhance our natural environment.
This program was established in 2024, since then the committee have completed many projects, including:
- Developing and delivering a workshop to Grade 6 students at the Casey Aspire Leaders Summit.
- Develop, star and create a short film with ideas that young people in Casey can do to reduce their personal emissions.
- Participated in a co-designed workshop with the Monash Climate Change Communication Research Hub to develop climate change related classroom resources.
- Helped build a community garden at the Youth Information Centre on Webb Street , Narre Warren.
- Hosted two tree planting events to plant over 2,000 native trees in Cranbourne West and Narre Warren North to create habitat for the local wildlife.
- Met with the Mayor and Councillors to discuss what matters to young people in Casey.

Applications are now closed, but will open in November 2026 to apply for the 2027 committee.
The committee meets twice a month on Tuesday evenings, once in person (dinner provided) and once online.
