Community Bus Hire

About Community Bus Hire

Seniors’ groups, community groups, clubs and associations based in Casey can book 12-seater (11 passengers plus 1 driver) buses for either full day or half day hire to enable them to attend programs, events, undertake excursions and visit places of interest. 

Buses can only be used within Victoria. 

Eligibility

To be eligible to hire the community bus, your organisation or group must:

  • Be based and operating within the City of Casey
  • Be registered entities with an ABN
  • Read and agree to the conditions of hire
  • Complete the application registration and booking form
  • Undertake an induction

Buses are unable to transport children under 7 years of age.

How does the service work?

Due to demand, and accessibility barriers, priority bus hire will be given to those who are supporting older adults and people who are transport or socially disadvantaged. 

It is recommended that hirers provide their own nominated driver. All drivers must hold a valid Australian full car license and complete an onsite induction process. 

Alternatively, buses can be booked with a City of Casey driver or a casual agency bus driver - both options incur additional costs and are dependent on availability and cannot be guaranteed. 

Some community groups might be eligible to hire a volunteer driver from Accessible Transport free of charge. This dependent on the availability of a volunteer driver and cannot be guaranteed.

Buses can be hired Monday-Sunday between 8.30am and 10.00pm and must be picked up and dropped off at City of Casey Works Depot located at 30-52 Vesper Drive Narre Warren. 

How to hire a community bus?

Existing hirers

If you are an existing hirer with the Community Bus program please click below to complete the booking request form:

For new hirers

If you have not hired the Community bus previously or if it has been over 12 months since you last booked, you will need to complete a registration and booking request form by clicking here:
