About the Casey Community Local Law 2025

The Casey Community Local Law 2025 helps keep our city safe, clean and enjoyable for everyone.

It sets out fair and balanced rules that help our community live respectfully together, protect public spaces, support local businesses, and address behaviour that negatively impacts others.

The Local Law works alongside State and Federal laws and aims to strike a balance between personal freedom and our shared responsibility to live well together.

It covers topics such as pet ownership, recreational vehicle use, fire safety, and how private land use can affect neighbours.

If you’re a resident, business owner, property investor or visitor, it’s important to understand the Local Laws that help make Casey a great place to live, work and visit.

Building and Works Code of Practice

If you’re an owner, builder or agent in charge of a building or works site, you must follow the rules in the Building and Works Code of Practice. The code is part of the Local Law and outlines the standards builders and developers must meet to keep sites safe, clean and well-managed. This applies to all situations where a building or works permit has been issued, but not to minor building works.
