City of Casey's commitment to Reconciliation

Casey’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan

The City of Casey's Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan was launched in March 2024 and is now active. Casey's Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan will be implemented over a two year period between March 2024 - March 2026.

What is a RAP?

The Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) explains our commitment to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It builds on our understanding, commitment, and respect for culture. Based on the core pillars of relationships, respect, and opportunities, RAPs provide tangible and substantive benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, increasing economic equity and supporting First Nations' self-determination. Since 2006, Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) have enabled organisations to sustainably and strategically take meaningful action to advance reconciliation.

The City of Casey has developed an Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to demonstrate our commitment to reconciliation, promote innovation, and foster positive change within our organisation. The Innovate RAP allows us to acknowledge and celebrate the cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while working towards creating a more inclusive and equitable community.
