Winter Arts Festival

winter arts banner

In 2024, we are turning the spotlight on our diverse and exceptional local arts and cultural communities across the City of Casey, and we’re also inviting the audience to take centre stage.

Through interactive experiences, engaging performances, immersive installations and an exciting range of workshops we blur the lines between creator and spectator, transforming every individual into an essential part of the festival.

Looking for school holiday options? The program offers dance, songwriting, improv theatre, art and an opportunity to experience Wilson Botanic Park in a whole new way as we open after hours, allowing families and friends to explore the park as Dino Safari bring some prehistoric fun to the gardens.

Casey Live and Local micro-festivals will be popping up in some of your favourite places and spaces as we continue to build a connected and dynamic music scene and celebrate the talented individuals living in our neighbourhoods.

Theatre companies, artists, crafters, dancers, community groups, venues and libraries are hosting an exciting range of events and activities for people of all ages so join us and be more than a spectator; be the heartbeat of an unforgettable celebration of the arts in the south east.

Special thanks to our festival partner Bendigo Bank Narre Warren South

Casey Live and Local micro-festivals in July

Anticipation builds as we prepare to host the first micro-festivals across Berwick and Cranbourne this July, coinciding with our Winter Arts Festival.

Picture yourself savouring an acoustic set with your morning coffee or grooving to a surf rock band during an afternoon catch-up with friends. Our Live and Local micro-festival activations promise a diverse range of musical experiences, catering to every taste and preference.

Volume 1: Berwick will be rolling out on Saturday 6 July from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm across four of our much-loved local venues: Little by Little Café, Gather: Food Coffee and Co, Thirty Eight O Six Brewing and Lava Lounge.

Background

The Winter Arts Festival is created with the community at its heart. Every offering in the program is by the community, for the community or with the intent to build new connections and shine a light on the incredibly vibrant municipality, rich with arts and culture that is the City of Casey. The festival has been running for 22 years with the purpose of presenting creative programs that encourage arts participation, community pride and generate social, cultural and/or environmental benefits.

We encourage local artists, choirs, theatre groups, dance troupes, musicians, comedians, crafters, filmmakers and venues to add their performance, activity or event to the festival program and help us immerse the community in creativity each Winter.
