Things to do at Myuna Farm

Myuna Farm is a working community and children’s farm in Melbourne’s Southeast. Providing a hands-on educational experience about Australian farming and sustainability.

The farm is home to a variety of animals, providing visitors of all ages and abilities with a unique and interactive hands-on experience. Myuna Farm is positioned alongside the Dandenong Creek, and offers a special environment of agriculture, river gums, and wetlands.

Animal nursery and Dairy

Explore the animal nursery, where everyone can have a hands-on sensory experience patting and interacting with our baby animals such as lambs, goat kids, calves, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Find our milking goats in the dairy and be sure to check out the daily milking demonstration.

Daily activities:

• 3:15pm Goat milking demonstration in the Dairy

• 3:30pm Bottle feeding the baby animals in the Animal Nursery

Paddock feed trail

Head out along the paddock feed trail, where everyone can hand feed a range of farm animals including sheep, cows, kangaroos, alpacas, goats, deer, camel, and emus. Animal feed bags can be purchased with admission.

The feed trail is accessible to all including prams and wheelchairs.

Tractor rides

The tractor ride is suitable for the whole family to enjoy. The tractor pulls several carriages, acting as a train. The tractor completes a circuit following along the paddock feed trail and down to the wetlands. The circuit takes 10-15 minutes and there are no stops.

  • The tractor ride operates daily from 11am – 3pm.
  • Tickets can be purchased with admission, $3.50 per person (over the age of 1 year), per ride.

Pony rides

The child can put on a helmet and enjoy a short lap on the saddled pony, led by a staff member. A parent or guardian can walk beside the staff member to support the child if needed. A photo opportunity is available at the end of the lap.

For the health and well-being of the ponies, there are maximum heights for riders. Height restrictions change daily as the operating pony changes each day, please speak to office staff on the day to confirm height restrictions.

Pony rides operate from 11am – 3pm. *Pony rides do not operate in temperatures exceeding 33 degrees Celsius.

Tickets can be purchased with admission, $3.50 per child (over the age of 1 year), per ride.

BBQ’s, Picnic Areas, and Playground

Free to use gas BBQs and picnic areas are spread across the farm. We encourage you to bring in your food and cooking utensils and enjoy a BBQ for lunch with the whole family. Children can explore the playground after lunch.

Cafe

 The on-site café is an independently operated business providing a range of food, hot and cold drinks, and ice creams for sale. For further information and menu options, visit the Café’s website.

Toilets

The toilet block is located beside the picnic area near the front office. The toilet block includes one all genders, accessible toilet. There are also separate men/boys and women/girls toilets, shared sinks in the common area outside toilets, and a separate baby change area.
