You can register for the current year until October. These registrations are marked as late, but your child will still be considered in future offer rounds.
Registrations for the following year open in June. If you didn’t complete an expression of interest you can still register.
- Registrations received before offers begin will be considered in the first round.
- Registrations received after that will be marked 'late' and considered for a place in future offer rounds.
- Choosing kindergartens
You can list up to 15 session preferences in your registration.
Keep in mind:
- Kindergarten is not compulsory.
- List all sessions you are willing to consider at all of your preferred kindergartens.
- Listing only one kindergarten does not make it more likely to get a place.
- Kindergartens are not zoned; living nearby doesn’t guarantee a place.
- Attendance at a particular kindergarten does not guarantee enrolment at a specific school.
- Attending a 3-year-old kindergarten within a City of Casey CRES, does not guarantee a 4-year-old place at the same kindergarten.
You can see a full list of kindergartens on our Find a kindergarten webpage.
- Visit a kindergarten before you choose
If you’d like to visit a kindergarten before deciding, contact the service directly to book a visit.
See the Victorian Department of Education’s guide on things to look for during your kindergarten visit.
