South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA)

secca

The City of Casey is one of the nine South East Melbourne councils that make up the South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA). SECCCA members are committed to keeping warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius (in line with the Paris Climate Agreement).

To achieve this outcome, SECCCA has set three objectives:

  1. Achieve net zero council corporate emissions and lead action to achieve net zero community emissions;
  2. Provide leadership to the region to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build climate resilience; and
  3. Advocate for prioritising investment to reflect the gravity and urgency of the climate emergency.

By combining resources, SECCCA invest in a variety of projects and research initiatives that focus on mitigating and adapting to climate change at a regional level. For more information visit SECCCA.
