Get moving this April with Active Autumn

We all know that getting active is super-important for both physical and mental health, but sometimes it is easy to get stuck in a rut of either not exercising or just doing the same old thing all the time.

But don’t worry about that because the City of Casey’s Active Autumn is coming to the rescue!

Active Autumn is a Council-led program running throughout April that aims to introduce you to a variety of free and low-cost physical activities that you may not have been aware of or tried before.

City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM noted that Active Autumn is an easy, inexpensive opportunity to get out, get active and have fun with family and friends.

“Activities are hosted by various sport and leisure organisations in partnership with the City of Casey, with the aim of encouraging you to have a go and be active for improved health and well-being,” Ms Duff said.

“We want to make getting moving as fun as possible by making it easy for residents to try a wide range of active recreation opportunities. With this in mind, the program has been designed to cater to the largest possible cross-section of our community.”

Things to try throughout Active Autumn include basketball, walking groups, park runs, yoga, scavenger hunts, boxing, Zumba, Bollyfit, Akido, and more. There’s really something for all abilities, budgets and age-groups, so why not give something new a try this autumn?
