One of the unfortunate aspects of the coronavirus is the temporary closure of various community facilities, including libraries. But do not despair, oh book lovers of Casey, because your local library now home delivers books!
This free service from Casey Cardinia Libraries (CCL) will see library items distributed directly to readers throughout the Casey Cardinia region. Not only can you pick and choose from their huge range of books, DVDs, magazines and more via the website, you can also order a no-fuss “Binge Bag”. You won’t turn the TV on for weeks when you choose this option! The CCL staff will pick a collection of items for you, based on your interests.
More than 1,200 library users have already taken advantage of the home delivery option and have shared with us their experience and gratitude.
The Cole family of Cranbourne said that, as voracious readers and frequent library visitors, they have greatly missed the library of late.
“Getting a phone call to let us know that our reserved items would be posted was awesome; to then be asked if there was anything else that we were interested in was truly above-and-beyond service. The librarian was so enthusiastic about searching for things we might love. When four boxes of books and DVDs were delivered today, we were so excited!” said Jodie Cole.
Jane of Endeavour Hills said that her children were very excited by their library delivery and that they are now making their way through the mountain of books they borrowed.
“It has been fun reconnecting with reading books; I haven't had much time over the prior decades to read so extensively. It’s nice to stay home and curl up with a book for a change instead of constantly being busy outside the home. Thanks for your thoughtfulness in working to meet our community needs at this time.”
To order a free home delivery, login to your CCL account and follow the prompts OR call the Customer Care team on 1800 577 548 and place an order over the phone. Australia Post will deliver the items to you. You needn’t worry about returning items quickly; all CCL loans have been automatically extended until 1 July 2020.
