City of Casey has welcomed the results of the JWS 2025 Community Satisfaction Survey, using the community’s feedback as a valuable opportunity to reflect and respond.
Co-ordinated by the State Government on behalf of Councils across Victoria, the annual JWS survey is an independent survey which benchmarks how residents view the performance of their councils. This year’s survey was conducted from 28 January to 16 March 2025.
Casey’s overall performance index score of 48, while being in line with the performance of other Melbourne fringe-area councils, is down from 2024. Despite this, the survey highlights areas of continued community confidence and future potential.
"We thank the community for their honest feedback. These results reflect not only the challenges we face but also the opportunity we have to rebuild and reconnect. After five years under administration, and a challenging period under the former Council, the new Councillors are honoured to have been elected by our fellow residents to represent our community."
“Our top priority is to restore and strengthen the trust our community places in elected representation. We will achieve this through transparency, genuine engagement, and delivering services that reflect the needs and aspirations of our residents.”
Waste management continues to be Council’s strongest performing service, receiving an index score of 67. The appearance of public areas which includes our parks and gardens also received positive feedback, as did our sealed roads, which was in line with last year’s result.
Despite the success of the Shape Your City engagement campaign, community engagement was an area identified where meaningful improvement can be made. The recent Local Law consultation marked a positive step forward in this area, with over a 1,000 responses, demonstrating stronger community involvement.
Cr Koomen added “"This survey is a valuable tool that helps us listen and learn. The results show areas for improvement, and we are committed to working with our residents to shape a future that reflects their voices and values."
