We are making important upgrades to Myuna Farm, and we appreciate you support and patience while works are underway.
Stormwater Harvesting System
A new Stormwater Harvesting System is being built to collect and treat stormwater that will be used to irrigate Myuna Farm and nearby Betula Reserve. This will reduce our reliance on drinking water.
The new water tank will collect and store 600,000 litres of storm water from the drain running into the Dandenong Creek. It will then be cleaned of rubbish and treated for irrigation of Betula Reserve sports fields and Myuna Farm animal paddocks.
This will help reduce pollution flowing into Dandenong Creek, making it a win for the local environment too.
Electrical system improvements
We are also upgrading the Farm’s main power system including the main switchboard, to fix electrical issues in areas like the BBQ shelter and Dairy.
These upgrades will also add extra electrical capacity, allowing the Farm to grow and add more equipment in the future, without needing another upgrade.
What you might expect to see during construction
You might notice construction works when you visit Myuna Farm
There are some temporary changes to the car park at the entrance to the Farm and cafe. Once works are completed, vehicles will be able to park on the area over the tank.
We thank you for your patience while construction is completed.
