Time to start preparing your property for summer

As we begin to transition from winter into spring, we start to see increased grass and vegetation growth.

We are reminding all residents and landowners how important it is to maintain your properties at all times throughout the year. Now is a great time to start arranging a maintenance schedule or book in a contractor in preparation for the upcoming fire season.

Vacant property owners need to mow all grass and weeds on your blocks to less than 30cm in height. Larger properties must do the same, unless the vegetation is for fodder, in which case fire breaks around properties will be required.

We encourage property owners to clear fallen branches and dead vegetation from around your property, including leaves and twigs, as well as mow long grass and remove any rubbish.

For larger properties you can apply for a permit to burn to aid with fire season preparations.
