Celebrate seniors this October

fest 23

Learn, Love, Live is the theme of the 2023 City of Casey Ageing Positively Festival.

Held throughout October in conjunction with the Victorian Seniors Festival, the month-long celebration is an opportunity for us to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable contributions of our older generations to our diverse community.

City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM said the Ageing Positively Festival is a time for our senior residents to come together, enjoy new experiences, and participate in a myriad of community-based events.

“There are more than 100 events and activities to choose from, including Seniors Big Dance, ABBA Due Tribute show, information sessions, art workshops and the ever so talented Brenda Bressed hosting a Drag Bingo event,” she said.

“There are also lots of community events and activities planned, such as Seniors Expo and Farmers Market, Forget Me Not café, Sports programs, tours and the opportunity to just catch up with friends and make new ones over a cup of coffee.”

“On behalf of the City of Casey, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and commend the outstanding work of the community groups, volunteers, neighbourhood houses, community centres, and senior support organisations. Your dedication to promoting active and healthy ageing in Casey is truly commendable, and we are deeply grateful for your unwavering commitment.”

The Festival program is now available from our Ageing Positively Festival web page.

A limited number of hard copies of the program will also be available for pick up from Bunjil Place (Customer Service, the box office and library), Cranbourne Customer Service, Cranbourne West Community Hub, Lynbrook Community Hub, Autumn Place Community Centre, Casey ARC, Casey Race, Oakgrove Community Centre and Cranbourne, Hampton Park and Endeavour Hills libraries.
