Celebrate Christmas 2024 in Casey

Christmas 2024

With Christmas fast approaching, the City of Casey is bursting with festive activities to bring residents together and spread holiday cheer. From fun-filled events to heartwarming celebrations, there's something for everyone to enjoy as we celebrate this special time of year.

Mayor Stefan Koomen says “As we approach the end of another year and head into the holiday season, I would like to wish you a happy and safe festive season.  Christmas is a time to reflect on the values I hold closest to my heart, my family, my community and building a real sense of connection and belonging.

My fellow Councillors and I had the pleasure of attending the Twilight Christmas Makers Market and Lighting the Bunjil Place Christmas Tree on Saturday and it was wonderful to see so many friends and families out enjoying the evening and celebrating with us.  This event marks the start of Christmas celebrations across our beautiful city, and I encourage all residents to embrace this time of year, be involved and enjoy the Christmas festivities.”

Throughout December, Wilson Botanic Park will be hosting a wide range of Christmas themed events including, Christmas movie by the lake, Christmas craft making, photos with Santa in the park, Elf Scavenger Hunts, and for the first time, paddle boats will be gracing the shores of the lake!

Christmas Carols are an endearing Christmas tradition, and residents will have the opportunity to once again immerse themselves in the Christmas spirit, light a candle and sing along to their favourite carols.  These wonderful events, proudly organised by the local community, will be held in several locations across the city:

Residents of Clyde North can get into the Christmas spirit at Banjo Park for a special Christmas in the Park Day. With face painting, water play and a visit from Santa, families are encouraged to bring a picnic and settle in for some festive fun with the community.

Mayor Stefan Koomen continues, “On behalf of Council staff and my Councillor colleagues, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year. I look forward to working alongside the Council and the community in the year ahead to achieve great things together.”
