Public Art 2025

Calling all public artists in Casey! If you live, work, study or base your art practice in the City of Casey, and would like to be notified of future public art projects, you are invited to join our Public Art Artist Database.

Through its Planning Policy, Council allocates one per cent of funding to the development of site-specific public art projects for all new community capital works projects over three million dollars.

With more than 250 public art projects across the municipality, Council is proud to boast a public art collection that is progressive, stimulating, and explores a variety of mediums, scales and approaches.

Previous public art experience is not required, and interested artists are encouraged to email publicart@casey.vic.gov.au with the following information:      

  • A short biography and CV (maximum three pages).
  • A brief description of your current artistic practice and why Council’s public art program is interest to you (maximum 500 words).
  • A portfolio of artworks, including any public art commissions (maximum 15 images) labelled as Artists name, Artwork title, Location, Gallery and Date. The images much be sent individually and can emailed as attachments or via a file share link without password requirements. PDFs will not be accepted.
  • The names of two referees, preferably from a previous client, commissioner or curator related to a previous public art commission.

Applications will only be accepted from artists only, and not from individuals, companies or other organisations representing artists.
