Looking to add a little flair to your ceramics practice—or simply keen to try something new? This hands-on workshop introduces Nerikomi, a traditional Japanese technique where intricate patterns and images are revealed within your clay forms. Playful, creative, and freeing, it’s the perfect way to explore colour and pattern in a new way.
No experience needed—just a willingness to experiment and trust the process.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
Colour clay in vibrant and expressive ways
Prepare Nerikomi canes and slabs
Work with multiple coloured clays to design unique tile-like patterns
Create your own patterned vase and plate
Practice safe wet sanding and understand dust-free ceramic techniques
Your finished pieces will be glazed and fired for you—ready to take home and enjoy.
Simply bring an apron and a small towel, and we’ll provide the rest.
Join us for a relaxing and inspiring workshop where creativity, colour, and calm come together.
For ages 16 and over.
